 The Event:
A wedding reception for the happy couple from Irving, Texas.
Located at the luxurious Omni Mandalay Hotel in Las Colinas, entertainment company, Entertainment Solutions, strived to meet and exceed the couple's expectations. For ambient lighting, the clients desired cyan when guests entered the room, purple for the special dances, and gradual migration to color-changing for evening dancing.
The Goal:
Seamless Ambient Color-Morphing.
To perfect color-specific ambient lighting at different stages in the night, seamlessly and beautifully on to 13' walls in a large ballroom setting.
The Choice:
The WDM LED Controller.
With a variety of LED fixtures to monitor and a tall order of color-changing wishes from the clients, Entertainment Solutions was able to consolidate the system and concentrate on the lighting. Says Litteken, "The advantages of the WDM LED Controller are low cost, quick set-up, and ease of use for non-DMX folks. Using the WDM LED Controller gave us a simple way to keep control of our ColorWasher 252's, so we could dedicate our PC controller to running other fixtures."
The Result:
Very happy.as were the clients and other vendors alike.
"The ColorWasher 252's provided the perfect amount of ambient light around the perimeter of the ballroom and a beautiful contrast with the pin-spotting, allowing us to cut the ballroom chandeliers to only a candle-lit glow," comments Litteken. He also noted that the seamless color-morphing was easily achieved by the WDM LED Controller. "I loved the easiness in being able to press a color button or create your own combination of RGB with the 3 sliders. The only disadvantages are in the inability to save color settings for quick return later, or individual control over specific lights in a run."
Overall, Litteken highly recommends this unit for its ease of use and quick set-up. "It's great for mobile entertainers, bands, DJ's, venues, or event lighting companies."
